Studio 312 First Thursdays Spring 2017 series continues Thursday May 4th with an evening of music and theater. Actor/singer Will Badgett and pianist/composer Neal Kirkwood explore the world of Harlem stride piano from ragtime to Duke Ellington. The stories of pianists Eubie Blake, Scott Joplin, Jelly Roll Morton, Willie “the Lion" Smith, James P. Johnson, Fats Waller, and Duke Ellington are told in their own words and music.

The Spring 2017 series of Studio 312 First Thursdays continues Thursday April 6th with an evening of image and sound. Performers are Natalie Kies, piano and voice, Neal Kirkwood, piano and vibraphone, and Elias Wessel, visual artist. This concert will feature songs by Kies and Kirkwood, and a new composition inspired by Wessel’s work.

Neal Kirkwood will be performing a concert of his compositions Friday, January 6th, 7 pm, at the Third Street Music School. This concert will feature chamber music compositions, jazz, and a song. With Tim Harrison, piano and flute; Dee McMillen, voice, Tori Miller, vibraphone; Bryan Weber, marimba; and Neal Kirkwood, piano.

The Fall 2016 series of Studio 312 First Thursdays continues Thursday November 3rd with a concert of music for voice, piano, flute and vibes. Performers are Dee McMillen, voice, Tim Harrison, piano/flute, and Neal Kirkwood, piano/vibes. This concert will feature two settings of Emily Dickinson poems composed by Tim Harrison, and settings of Don Marquis, ee cummings and Charles Darwin (a world premiere) by Neal Kirkwood, and some instrumental duets.

Our first concert with Gorilla, My Love had a full house, so please RSVP.

On December 1st Joyce Hammann and Neal Kirkwood will present a concert of sonatas for violin and piano by Bartok, Mozart and Kirkwood.
